People you work with are great
Very fast pace but the knowledge required is minimal. The work environment is extremely clean and safe, modern buildings. The training provided is clear and sufficient to get you started.

Environnement correct, culture correcte.
Si un employé fait ce qui est demandé, il n'aura pas de problème. Sinon, le syndicat est là pour réglé le litige.

Senior Customer Service Representative | Oak Ridges, ON | 17 janv. 2019
courteous friendly staff to work with
Fast paced hard work and physically demanding. No benefits, pension or even guarantee of hours Get no benefits, sick time, lifting heavy items, hard physical work, sometimes get treated like garbage. The best part of the job is helping customers. In Christmas time starting in September to February is really stress full, EVERY BODY ARE ORDERING ONLINE, NOW PARCELS ARE BIGGER AND YOU HAVE A LOT. There are very few people at work who are happy with their job, and most disclose quietly to one another that they feel trapped and are unhappy.
Points positifsstability
Points négatifsHavy lifting

Low employee morale
Weak leadership with ever changing priorities. It is difficult to feel satisfied after a days work. Union environment covers up for poor performers and as result good employees feel neglected and taken advantage of.
Points positifsJob Security
Points négatifsAdvancement is not based on performance but instead whom you know

Equipment Operator | Calgary, AB | 22 déc. 2013
Enjoyed working there
Fix it right attitude. Finished apprenticeship as Automotive Technician and as Heavy Equipment Technician. Management supported most ideas for changes that I brought forward. The co-workers were a great bunch, I am still in contact with them. The hardest part of the job was the repetative nature of the work. The most enjoyable part of the jop was the benefits, especially the time off.

Administrative Coordinator | London, ON | 16 juin 2020
I,personally, felt relaxed and confident.
I loved working at CPC, on a personal basis. However, others felt intimated and regarded as not valued. There is a tenancy to keep employees on staff, who are not contributing to an overall team spirit. CPC, as a whole do not use Unions efficiently. Regard
Points positifsA multitude of team & skill Building.
Points négatifsLack of cohesion among groups.

Questions et réponses au sujet de l'entreprise Canada Post

Vos supérieurs sont-ils facilement abordables chez Canada Post?
Posée le 26 mars 2017
I find it very discouraging in the fact that there is very little job advancement opportunities in the smaller communities for rural route drivers.
Réponse du 17 févr. 2021
Take a step back and actually look at the route...how many days of mail are you asking them to deliver...should you be giving themsome extra help...should you be telling them they will be paid for overtime...should you be telling them to come back at the end of their shift because you will not pay them overtime. You are management your job is to manage not sit back and complain when things are not done. Support and manage that is your job!

Why did you leave your job at Canada Post?
Posée le 26 mars 2017
The management at this job made me suicidal with aggressive and dishonest behavior and abusive attitudes. I tried to make complaints through the official channels and ended up being prevented from working for over 4 months while they string me along. When returning to work I received a review journaling all the abuse I had dealt with, but with me as the guilty party. I can't count the times that it made me sick how they treat people here. They don't pay you enough for the behaviour of your superiors, no matter how much they smile and pretend to be your friends.
Réponse du 24 févr. 2020
I retired after 28 years. Loved my job, for the most part. But woud like to return as a term employee, however Canada Post, contrary to other government jobs,( and yes, I am well aware that as a corporation they have the right to do things contrary to other government departments,) I do not qualify as I am receuvibg a pension from them. They would rather train someone (only 4 hours paid by the way) then leave them to run a one person Post Office by the seat of their pants! Doesn't sound like good management practices to me. It WAS a great company in its time but it is top heavy now and serves its CEO and board members first and its customers last.

Quelles sont les questions posées lors d’un entretien chez Canada Post?
Posée le 23 févr. 2017
The interview was very relax. **I applied for postal clerk** First the person talks about the job and what they expect from you. Some questions asked were: -Why would you want to work at post canada? -Are you bilingual? -Are you able to read and write well? -Do you have experience in a warehouse? -What are some safety measures to take while in a warehouse? -What would you do if the supervisor was in back of you telling you to go faster? -Give me a scenario where you took charge when the managers were not around -Do you own steel toe boots? -Are you able to lift 50lbs? -What are your availabilities * we talked for a bit but the questions are very easy. After the interview, I had to go get my fingerprints scaned and sign some papers Good luck! :)
Réponse du 12 nov. 2020
Why do you want to work at c.p. What would you do if: You've finished your work early. You see a white powder. An emergency of some kind. Can you lift 50lbs. Er no.

What is the company culture at Canada Post?
Posée le 23 févr. 2017
Bullying and harrassment from both fellow employees and management. Union works in snail mode which I believe is why it continues as bad as it is. Management knows it takes years for the union to get stuff to arbitration and they use that to their advantage. I was a union rep and became vice president of a local in Hope's to make a difference but made little difference. The high ups need to get the paper work done and in front of an arbitrator. The only good thing about being the vice president I sat in on Consultations with management and stop.some of their lies about the office I worked in. I sat there fighting for a position they gave to a junior employee while they pretended they knew nothing. Very infuriating. Mana9is a real piece of work they plays employees against each other.
Réponse du 5 déc. 2019
Office culture seems to be based on favors. Maybe it depends on the province? "Rendre service" becomes a habit and is expected if you want to be liked. Low value tasks are thoughtlessly thrown at other staff because everyone is "too busy" to learn and do their part. Very old school and man's club mentality. Really need to reconsider the entire culture and how they treat people to welcome new blood. Employees who have been there so long feel like everyone else owes them something and work values are on paper only but not necessarily practiced across the board. Poor management get promoted or moved elsewhere when the seat gets too hot. New hires from the outside beware. It can be tough, intimidating and disrespectful environment. Good luck fitting into the mold. Being at odds with eachother like another reviewer wrote and lacking processes and consistency keeps everyone employed and redoing the same thing over and over and over ... it's a shame really
