I have worked for Door Dash for about 4 months now and almost reach 300 orders. I can tell you guys that this company really poorly managed. But the most important question is, how is the pay? Well I can tell you that you get pay 64 cents (for one whole order after gas) to at best $1 per mile your drive + tips. I am not joking, 64 cents...The app AI is pretty bad, once it required me to drive 25 miles (40 km), after the calculation minus the gas and time, I get pay 64 cents. I accepted the order so I can contact customer support to yell at them. Well...to reason with them politely. They said the paid is automatic and is fair. I asked them to take the dash away from my app, I am not driving 1 hour to make 64 cents. The gas price was at 139.9 for regular at that time. After the Dash is canceled, it massed up my bonus on my other payments!!! There is a thing call "Rush Hour Bonus". It is very everyday. Sometimes is +$2.5 to +$5 on top of the guarantee pay. Let's say the app ask you to go to a restaurant, it is going to tell you the distance of the drive plus the pay for that dash. Let's say it is $10, the bonus is $5 You get $15+$1+tips, sound not bad right? But there is a catch, you have to accept 80% of the order to get the bonus. So that day I have 3 orders from 11am to 2pm. I finished my 2nd dash at 1:57pm and It was all good till then.....Right after I finish my 2nd dash, I hit confirm, a new dash came and it was the "drive 40+km and get pay 54 cents order". I had the cu

Dasher Delivery Driver Review
As a driver for Door Dash I can not express my frustration enough. There are some good things, however there are a number of issues with Door Dash and if you are a person who cares about the work you do, and the level of service you provide your customers this may not be the job for you.
1) Pick up location may be +20km from your current location and the scheduled pick up time is 5 min later
2) You recieve notification that order is ready for pick up and you wait 15-20min because they are still working on the order (you do not get paid to sit and wait)
3) The delivery time to the customer is often early than the time you recieve an order so this affects your on time delivery metrics. Then they tell you how you can improve upon this metric even though the late delivery is not a result of your speed, or anything you have control of.
4) There is no phone number to contact anyone at support, everything goes through the mobile Dasher App, if you app crashes or fails YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!
5) Messages sent into support can have a delayed reaponse of up to 48 hours. So you will have to be patient, do not expect a swift response. When you do get a response, do not think that your message was read, because in most cases they send a canned email back to you, completely unrelated to the original message sent.
6) You may decline Dashes, however, your acceptance rate will go down. Once you put in the reason for your decline of an order and want to pause or stop Dashes, they wil
Points positifsThere are orders on a regular basis
Points négatifsVery poor driver support, poor app for enabling or disabling a current dash, no follow up on bad customer reviews, delays in recieving weekly payment, long drive from current location to resturant, KPI which are recorded on systems desinged to make you fail and not meet targets

Flexible, decent pay, but with a lot of flaws
I’ve been delivering with doordash for around 6 months now. I keep doing it because you do make a bit more than minimum wage (after subtracting gas costs).
I’m a little bit suspicious that I’m the past few months they’ve lowered their pay scale. They aren’t transparent at all with how the scale works, so it’d be easy to slowly lower it without people noticing. I feel like I’m making less per delivery than I used to, but that could be due to other factors too I guess.
The app could certainly work better; I’ve had it give me an order, only to drive to the location and realize the order mysteriously disappeared. Normally they contact you when an order is canceled, but sometimes they don’t.
I also hate that if your customer rating drops below 4.5, they say you can be fired. I’m always polite with customers, and almost always on time, yet my rating is currently 4.16 ... 4.16 out of 5 stars would generally be considered a good rating, but it’s not good enough for doordash apparently. So I’m constantly worried that my account will be deactivated without notice.
The biggest problem I have with doordash is that there’s no emergency hotline in case there’s an issue with an order/the app/etc. I’ve had issues SO many times, and had to take the time to solve them myself, which ends up costing me a lot of cash. I’ve noticed restaurants also often have this same issue and are also unable to contact doordash for help.
Points positifsFlexible hours
Points négatifsNo emergency hotline

Good job if you need pocket money for the day.
I did 140 deliveries for DoorDash Canada in Surrey British Columbia.
Now keep in your mind that Surrey has a population of over 400,000 people. Down below are the pros and cons of working for DoorDash:
Pros:
1. Flexible work hours
2. Flexible work locations
3. You basically don't have a boss, you are your own boss.
4. Weekly payments.
Cons:
1. Very low compensation. For the most part, the wage is lower than minimum wage.
2. A lot of down time. For the most part you are gonna wait between 10 to 25 minutes to get a dash.
3. Lots of long distant deliveries. The app doesn't care where you are and how far a delivery is. Although after each delivery you let the app know if you are satisfied with the distance you've driven to deliver an order or not, but still you are gonna get a lot of very long distant deliveries.
4. Don't even imagine working at DoorDash can pay your bills. At least half of your income goes to gas money and car maintenance.
5. I did 140 deliveries and I never got any tip from a customer, except for 1 time that a customer tipped me 2 dollars. I am not sure if this is how people are in Surrey or it is the same everywhere else.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend working at DoorDash for a long time, don't treat it as a full time job. If you are out of pocket money for the day, then DoorDash would be a good option.

Not worth it
I joined Doordash around one year ago in Niagara falls ontario area.
The payment rate is very very low (Below 9/hour ) DO NOT BELIEVE THE NIMBERS .
The following will be deducted:
1- Taxes
2- Gas
3- Car Maintenance
4- Your health
5- Your mental status
6- YOUR ALTERNATOR WILL BE DESTROYED FROM MANY TURN ON-OFFS
, everything became so expensive after covid-19 , yet They do not respect what they told me many months ago that the minimum payment was $ 9 per order, I still get looooow orders for 6-8 dollars . It is not worth it, I changed my alternator (fFor $ 550 CAD ) because of frequent turning on and off the engine at least three times per order ( To pickup , turn off , then on - After drop off, turn off then turn on , if wrong address, turn off then on . Total turn on per day if 8 orders will be around 16-20 turn on per day as compared to two times only if you do 9-5 security or mcdonals minimum wage job , which I found way better as a total benefits, medical , dental , relax, no traffic , no hassles . It is not worth it
This Doordash is good if any applies:
If you have zero skills
If you have no soft skills at all
If you do not speak English and have zero experience
If you wanna make around 5-6 /hr (After all deductions)
Then this is for you . Good luck !!
Points positifsFlexible hours
Points négatifsMore traffic tickets, Destroy your car, below minimum wage

Tips detoured
When paying the courier, DD uses customers’ tips to save money. Based on distance and other things, DD sets an amount to pay to dasher, then, if there is any tip, DD only pays the difference; the tip is not added to the initial amount. So, if a customer tips, DD pays less and the final amount is about the same. The effect is the same as stealing the tip. Although, as they say, ‘the dasher gets all the tip’, there is no benefit for the dasher; only the distribution of the provenance of money changed, not the amount. Tipping online allows them to spend less and the tip goes to their profit; better not to tip and let them pay; or, if customers want to tip the dasher, should do it directly, with cash.
The way they pay can be seen in the dasher app: in Earnings, touch a week, then touch a dash.
They should be asked to refund the tips to customers. For the last 2 years. Used to pay reasonably, but turned greedy in 2017 and switched to this method. It was announced as great news and came with a video showing satisfied, delighted and smiling dashers. After that “improvement”, my driver dasher earnings went down to around 2/3 of before.

Play tricks sometimes
1. DoorDash sent you far away, 20 km, then no more task, you have to drive back, close to the restaurant, so can receive another task at cheaper rate.
2. received task, restaurant can't do the order at that time, the task was cancelled and no pay. And, this was recorded as not completed, resulting acceptance rate lower than 80%,so doordash no willing to pay extra $2 per delivery as promised.
3. Received a task, rate $8.××,while 100 meters arriving, the task was cancelled because"no activity", which is not true, then received the same task, this time because I was close the restaurant,(in front of the door) , the rate was $6.xx.
4. Red card doesn't work in restaurant, called support, no agent available. Had to leave, no pay.
5. Store closed, the help said cancel the task, if cancel no pay, they just want to fool driver to save penny for doordash, so cheap! One time I was there already, I told the store was closed. not cancelled thing. Then git half pay.
A company tried so many mean ways paying less to the employee, can't survive longer.
I decided quit. Too mean, too cheap.
Points positifsflexible time
Points négatifspayment too low, company too mean

1st delivery
OMG! Terrible driver support...(especially compared to skip the dishes). Their app sent me 20+ kilometers away from actual McDonald's I was supposed to go to, $12 order, tried cancelling order- pain once you accepted order (have to accept order to see details)., tried to get compensation as spent over 1 hour in traffic... 1st. Person said no way, said supervisor would tell me same. 2nd person said I would, and would send email about this. Never got anything!!! 2nd order, had to wait in line for 10 minutes to order with red card, 10 minutes more for food, 10 minutes driving...all for $8!!!!!! 3rd order wanted to send me 30 minutes in traffic, hassle to cancel, and they started to threaten me that my rating would go down............ They have a long way to go to be even close to Skip the Dishes support.(they actually compensate quickly, without any hassles).
P.s. they tell you to drive around aimlessly, or the app will think you don't want orders????!!!, (Management words), wasting your gas, or to their"hotspot" to get orders. Done with them!!
Points positifsEasier to make small shifts (.5 hr, increments)
Points négatifsEvery thing about their app, and extremely poor service.

Flexible hours but poor engagement between management and drivers
You are allowed to set your own schedule, giving flexibility for work/personal life balance. They are typically busy, and as this is piecework, there is no guarantee on income, but they are typically busy so there is a good chance to make good money daily. The communication between customers, restaurants, and their dispatch (which is mostly remote) is poor, and some days too much of a driver's time is wasted correcting miscommunication between the above parties, which could result in working 12 hours, spending $40 on fuel for your vehicle to make $60. Also, as most of their infrastructure builds around their apps for smartphones, updates are poorly managed, leading to both drivers not getting orders when there is work, and restaurants not getting orders (or even being able to open the application altogether).
Points négatifsHighly variable income, poor communication between dispatch and restaurants

Would be great if...
This would be a great gig if you actually were to get orders, after two weeks I made less money than I spent in gas and time, I was unemployed in the New Year decided to try It out, and I worked 3-4 hours and got 2 orders on average which is awful, also had a schedule to 8:30 pm and I swear the app gave me a delivery right at 8:30 then decided because my shift was over it wouldn’t let me accept it, the app then said because I didn’t accept the order (when it would t let me) I lost acceptance rate which is total nonsense I was willing to do it but because the shift was ending on the schedule it wouldn’t let me, if you actually got orders one after the other this wouldn’t be so bad, also sucks when you go to a restaurant to pick up someone’s food and the place hasn’t even started the order.. good idea flawed system.
Points positifsIf you get orders it’s fun and a decent way to make some coin
Points négatifsfinding the right address customer/restaurant gps for some reason doesn’t take you there sometimes
