NOT A LUXURY BRAND poisonous culture, toxic work environment, poor quality
If you want to feel undervalued, surround yourself with constant negativity, and ensure no future growth whatsoever, this is the place for you. After spending 3 years with this company I saw it all. The culture is despicable. Management would mock and insult applicants who showed up for interviews that they deemed "ugly, fat, ghetto, etc.) Even if someone has amazing skills and experience - irrelevant. The discrimination taking place in this company is shocking. Management fights harder for commission than sales associates, creating a toxic, uncomfortable, environment with zero trust between all. Favouritism, gossip, and negativity fuels the Michael Kors machine and it is incredibly sad to watch. I loved this brand - but as prices started to go up the quality went so far down. Outlet product is more expensive than lifestyle stores due to huge unjustifiable price increases and constant "promotions" (the outlet is now permanently 50% off.) The brand has cheapened itself beyond repair. Items are sold wrapped in garbage bags. The clothing allotment was a perk until the quality of the clothes became embarrassing, pilling after one wear, seams and stitching falling apart, buttons and zippers break after two wears...) No matter how hard you work or what a loyal and dedicated employee you are, you will never get recognition. Management acts jealous of the sales associates commission and are not there to help by any means, they are there to compete, constantly gossiping about staff

Unpolite staff, high strung customers, no job advancment what so ever
I worked for Michael Kors for about a year in a half and first I want to start with their appearance policy, if you have tattoos or piercings forget it you're going to be highly judged when getting wardrobe, I once had to come in extremely ill to work because no one could cover my shift so I didn't look that great and instead of management asking if I was okay or even taking the full day which i now know as a manager is what should happen they decided to tell me and I quote "Go put your face on" I asked the manager to advance after doing so much work and everything and doing extra I was not getting paid for if I could advance and she led that on for me so I ended up quitting because I wasn't going anywhere and I found out that a girl that had started working there 4 month prior had got the position. For such a low quality company they have such high expectations of their staff honestly they should work on the work place and their staff in making them happier then worry about "experience Michael" because it starts with who you hire and how you treat your staff, I'm very grateful for the experience however I am very displeased with them as a company and especially if you have this many bad comments about management they should be doing something just know that if you work here head office and store managers do NOT care about you.

Stock Associate
The shipments would come in early morning only on the weekdays. The amount of products in the box must correspond with the paperwork before being received. A manager must sign and confirm the amount of shipments coming in. At the end of receiving the boxes, the products will go in there own specific section. The empty boxes need to be cut up and stacked up in the presentable manner for garbage. Before the boxes and garbage bags are taken out for recycling, the manager must check each and every item. The hardest part of the job in the beginning for me would be getting called to bring 10 things at once from the co-workers at the front for customers. As you get familiar with the backroom and come up with a strategy with the stock crew, it becomes easier. The most enjoyable time at the job is when the store is not busy and you can work at your own pace on maintain and keep it clean while playing music. Sometimes the managers would bring coffee for the employees or bring snacks/food depending on the day. The stock crew would have the benefit because the sales associate could not leave the front to come in the back unless it's their break or washroom.
Points positifsEmployee discount is great, flexible hours, work by yourself
Points négatifsThe coworkers are impatience, pay could of been better, being treated unfairly

Boring location, no opportunity for growth. Low salary.
Supervisors work a lot for little money. Expect to get 15.75 bucks max and benefits that are a joke. If they ever raise your salary, it will be 25 cents. Sales associates make basic salary plus comission which is 1 % of whatever they sell. No benefits for PT. So, per week youll make around 15 bucks an hour, including comission. The Burlington location is so slow you can spend half of a day and see no more than 20 people. So, you basically make no money in comparison with other high-end stores that provide the same customer service. If you are happy standing doing nothing, this is the job for you. However, there are some perks like free clothes every new season, comission (Depending on location), 50% off regular price items and 25% sale items, paid breaks. Sometimes they make contests but the goals are so unreachable that you may feel is not worth your effort. And, to conclude, if you ever want a day off, be ready to justify why do you need that day off. No personal space or privacy. I wouldnt recommend this company. Many people has been promised many things but there isnt any room for growth at this company.

Unprofessional environment
This company is not what you think it is. Unprofessional work environment with no work life balance. Over time with no pay and last minute schedules that you will never have a life. Poor management with miss leading messages and blame on you to take all responsibilities. They do not take any advices you give them. You must listen or you will be the trouble maker. They hope you are a machine who can just work for them and not to have any personality to express yourself. Even a nose ring is not allowed with their appearance policy, or braided hair and coloured nails are also banned. Forced taxable benefits even you don’t want their clothing you are forced to wear and pay. And lastly, they mess up your payroll that you can’t even contact HR yourself to find detailed payslips breakdowns.

Stressful chaotic workplace
With 20 years of experience I was able to identify major issues that were preventing the team from moving forward within a week of being in my role. I identified that I needed to hire but every candidate I brought forth I was told didn’t look Michael Kors meaning they weren’t beautiful even employees that I had managed for years who were fantastic at what they did. Before I arrived all members of management at my store had been put into their roles that they were not ready for. It was clear that the district manager simply did not offer support or would put Band-Aids on major issues to make herself look good the corporate. Friends hiring friends. I gave it a year and I left because I didn’t see the culture shifting as long as the store was profitable they were turning a blind eye.

Seems great until you’re a month into work.
Management is horrible and unprofessional. I worked here for a year and a half and I was overworked beyond belief. All this place cares about is money and bonuses. They don’t care about the well being of their employees at all. The workplace environment was the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. Everyone will gossip about you and stab you in the back, INCLUDING the managers. I was made to do tasks that managers should have been doing every single shift because managers here do not do a THING. Your hard work will never be appreciated or acknowledged. Everyone I’ve worked with there has taken mental health breaks for long periods at a time because this place will DRAIN you. You will regret applying here, I can promise you.

Selling your soul
You must follow their rules. This company views their employees as walking mannequins. The clothing allowance is amazing, but you are not allowed to express your own sense of style. The district manager, regional manager even your own manager will critique the way each piece of clothing fits you. They only focus on numbers and your appearance. The funny thing is, I did fit their mold. To these people vanity is all that matters. I have strong integrity and left the company because of the miss-treatment to my fellow staff. This company does not respect styles from your own culture, even when it had been explained to the district manager. I do not feel this company is a healthy environment, especially for young adults.

Disappointment
Michael Kors promises you the world and delivers absolutely nothing. Terrible corporate management, completely unprofessional and immature. It is embarrassing when Corporate management can't even lead by example and cause constant gossip and disruption at store level. Micromanagement by people who can't even manage their own behaviour. HR is a joke. They take no serious concerns in an appropriate manner and many things end up swept under the rug. While you may receive poor quality free clothes and shoes (which they call a *perk*. The toxic environment is not worth anything. If you expect to make anything above minimum wage, don't waste your time... 1% commission rate and very low sales daily contributes nothing to your overall paycheque.

well paid, but toxic environment and irresponsible upper management
Michael Kors itself does not operate on friendly terms. From the beginning, it is made clear that work is work, and that there will be very little room otherwise. While the store management team is very kind and understanding, their hands are bound by the upper management; they have very strict availability expectations, and are not at all understanding for personal circumstances: for example, one person was forced to quit because she had to take 8 days off to visit her sick grandmother. They also require shifts during exam periods, which is unfavourable for students. HQ are constantly watching the store on the cameras, and would crack the whip on anything they do not see fit.

Productive and Fun Workplace
I have happily spent two and a half years at Micheal Kors. This company basically taught me everything I know about how to make a customer feel special and how to learn about products. I really liked this job, even if there wasn't a whole lot of opportunity to get ahead or to change your job title. The management team are made up of very kind individuals who for the most part understand when things arise in ones personal life. They try to make the atmosphere all about family and working together and, surprisingly, for a job with almost all female employees there is rarely any "girl drama", for lack of a better term. The managers are very good at keeping "girl drama" out of the workplace and for as long as I've worked here if they noticed any drama such as snarky remarks or verbal attacks on or off the floor they have professionally and privately settled the issues. There is not one girl who acts cruelly to any other girl. That's very important, a healthy work atmosphere that is about business and not about any llama drama. When I first started working at Micheal Kors they had agreed to work with my school schedule and that was also very important to me. They usually are a very pro-education company and so long as you're available every holiday and weekend they're pretty understanding. The bad part about this is that you need to be available /every/ Weekend. You never get a weekend off just because or even one day out of the weekend just because. This isn't that surprising

To get in your foot in the door, not a long term career
Working at MK was very awkward for me. I worked there for about 2 years and at first I loved my new job, but sadly that came to a distributing halt. The environment is extremely catty and unfair in so many ways. There was a lot of unethical practices on and off of the sales floor. To top it off there was a TON of discrimination towards me (not trying to pull the race card but it was extremely prevalent to anyone looking from the outside in) and there were a lot of discriminatory remarks made towards me as well. 1. I will start off with the pay. Before I began working at MK as a Sales Associate I had a generous amount of retail experience to back me up, and I was started off at $12.00 an hour. The other two girls who I was hired on with (both non minorities with only volunteer work experience) were getting paid $13.50/$14.40 which discouraged me at the time but I was grateful having Michael Kors as a job. 2. Commission was a hit or miss, especially during certain seasons. With MK being a commission environment it was definitely catty sometimes, but getting your sales deliberately stolen from a SUPERVISOR was extremely unacceptable and proves that there is NO integrity in some of the workers in this company. When I worked at MK (2017) Commission ranged from 1%-5% depending on your sales. 3. Hours were SO trash and they literally gave me leftover hours. SO I would work 10-13 hours a week. Then when holiday approaches and everyone BUT ME gets their requested time off Im DROW

MK Outlet: Fun environment, perks on discounts, monthly wardrobe, and covid-19.
Overall, my work experience at MK was fun but shorten due to Covid-19. You get nice discounts on the items in the outlet store, retail store, and online when it is employee appreciation week/month. Wardrobe is given 10xs a year, excluding the month of june and december . Wardrobe are mostly dresses, dress pants, blouses, jumpsuits, and blazers. As a cashier, you do not have to worry much about making a sale or meeting a goal. Your main responsibility is asking if a sale associate (coworker) helped them and signing up for a free one year warranty for their bag/wallet or two year warranty on sunglasses and watches. (Don't worry, it is not like signing up for a charged card. Plus people love the words free warranty). Let them know that the warranty only applies on manufacture damages. You also aim to sell protective sprays and key chains. You help with unwrapping Small Leather Goods (SLGs) and stock them when it is slow. My store management team was amazing and understandable. Very flexible with you on scheduling you on for shifts. You have to be able to communicate that you have other obligations with your management team. I have seen youtube videos about people sharing that MK management teams telling them to fix their hair or wear MK appeal from head to toe. My MK outlet store management team was never like that. I could only speak for the store that I worked at. The team encourage diverse, ethnic hairstyles such as box braids, natural hair, and natural hair buns. Ju

Do NOT accept this position
Save yourself the mistake I made before you accept this position. This company wasted 3.5 years of my life, my career, my time, my growth opportunity and my overall well-being as a human, mother and daughter. Where do I start.... I was hired right out out of college by a recruiter who reached out to me. Long story short, I gave my life and time to this company. I invested every little piece of me in this company. My heart and soul was poured for this position and company. I went over and beyond because I sincerely cared. Let me just tell you in my 3.5 years with the company I had 5 different district managers. They come and go as they end up feeling bad for shop “managers”. We are treating with no respect from retail partners and department associates. They could care less about you or your position. There is no succession plan, I REPEAT, NO SUCCESSION plan with this company. Once you are hired as a Shop Manager your only growth may be to become an “Area” Shop Manager and eventually your position will either get “diminished” or you get crazy bored and quit. Your so called Michael Kors “partners” or the team from corporate could care less about you or your position. The Vice President of Retail Development is careless, the account executives could care less about your shortage of stock or product. Your practically a waste-less human being that was hired to be human Barbie for the Macy’s/Belk Michael Kors shop. If your into modeling this is the job for you. Your mad

Driven Managment Team, but lacks Development for Upper Mangment
A typical day at work is coming in and ensuring that both back and front of house is sound. Once the operations is completed, I ensure that all employees are "floor ready". Also, I conduct a walk thru of the store and deliver product knowledge with all the associates so that they are empowered when conducting the "Michael Kors Selling Ceremony". Furthermore, I touch base with each sales associate to support them on their client retention goals.Lastly, I review and confirm any task that need to be completed for all upcoming in store events. Since working at Michael Kors, I have learned to be patient and not assume that everyone processes information the same. I have learned that in order to be successful in management it is important to achieve the staff's trust, remain composed and to lead with results. It has become evident, wayward thinking guides me through some of the toughest challenges. Moreover, I have also learned how to analyze the business using qualitative and quantitative data. Management at Michael Kors is composed of 8 including myself. We are each responsible for a department in the store, for me Ready-to-Wear and Shoes, and we are to increase that specific business. We support each others focus by constantly communicating our department goals, challenges and successes. The hardest part of my job is training. Because Michael Kors hires candidates with little or no luxury retail training it seems their talent lacks the basics of customer servi

Please do not work here- They will fire you without notice
I started working as a Shop Manager for Michael Kors a couple of months ago. I can honestly say that it was not the worst job, and I actually liked it.. BUT now I regret leaving my old job. MK ruined my career. I will say the good things first: You get paid holidays, which is great! You make your own schedule You get 50% off discount You get clothing allotment (But you pay the taxes and it takes FOREVER for you to receive it). Now, the bad: To begin with, you are NOT a manager AT ALL. The only person you manage is yourself. The associates within the retail partner store do not see you as a manager, because they do not work for Michael Kors. Most of the associates are rude and moody and you feel powerless because you do not have any authorization over them. They do not offer proper training. During my first week, I was very lost. They just threw me in the store and that's it. I did not even know how to get my daily sales. I was lucky enough to have another shop manager working in that mall who guided me. Many shop managers complain about the amount of recaps we had to write on a daily basis. I enjoy writing, so that was not a problem for me. However, if you lack writing skills this WILL be a big problem. Also, deadlines are very strict. Ok, now...THE WORST: After I got my position, sales were doing great and I was very happy and motivated to continue reaching my goal. However, one day SUDDENLY and OUT OF NOWHERE I received a call from HR saying that

Productive and fun work environment
Awesome learning and selling environment with a brand I love. Although meeting sales goals was important and competitive, I got along with all my coworkers and management team, where we established a fun, passionate, and diligent work atmosphere. A typical day at work would include greeting customers and making them feel welcome, generating sales to increase conversion, focusing on developing new clients while maintaining long-term relationships with old ones, accommodating to customer issues, and making sure hourly, weekly, and month goals were met and/or surpassed. The most enjoyable part of the job was pushing myself to be the best sales associate and supervisor I could be by really learning from my colleagues and taking constructive criticism. By being positive and hard-working, I am recognized as a top seller. The hardest part of the job was how it took some time to get to know certain employees due to their schedules. As Michael Kors became more and more mainstream and popular, the brand expanded their sales horizon to department stores, such as Lord and Taylor, Bloomingdale's, Nordstorm, and Macy's etc. This made meeting our goals more difficult, but I focused on clienteling and giving exceptional service to hundreds of customers on a daily basis, which would ensure their loyalty to not only me, but to Michael Kors Lifestyle/Freestanding stores. The most enjoyable part of the job was the friendly, competitive environment that I established with my coworkers to ensure tha
