Working for Shaw is like being back in high school all over again.
You are required to show up 15-30 minutes early so you can be pre-signed into the computer you will be working on for the day. From there, you are micromanaged every second of the day. The schedule you get compared to anyone else is based upon how many calls you take, as well as how many of those calls end up having the customer call back with a small portion of tenure. This makes the schedule change more frequently than some peoples underwear and hard to plan ahead with. You are expected to actively show improvement in your KPI's and make progress towards other positions in the company, but are expected you use your own time to do most of the career development. The company revolves around the relationships between their employees so when it comes to applying to other positions, you are better off making friends with everyone and applying rather than going above and beyond in your work. Management deals with employee issues as though we were back in high school - I was suspended for 2 days for using a bad word in a private conversation 1.5 weeks after it happened that stopped me from being promoted to another department and then again 3 weeks later for a yet another single sarcastic sentence after being insulted myself.

sell your soul
It is all about the numbers and sell , sell, sell. If you do not produce then you will be let go. The departure of many reps ads to the heavy work load. Supervisors are promoted because of who they know and if they drank enough of the company cool aid. Again, an identity crisis as cable and phone dying. Expect the layoffs every 4-6 years.

Lots of time on the phone. Lots of meetings and feedback from supervisors. Very goal oriented, however the overall direction changed rapidly, so you have to be very flexible.

Overall an excellent organization to be with. Good supervisory guidance and support. Co-workers co-operative and concerned with providing client support. They have good training program for new employees as well as training for upgrading your skills as you progress. Company provides a comprehensive benefits package of services, health and medical. They are also is very active in the community and national charities. The management organization is supportive and in very interested in ensuring an excellent service for their clients and investors as well as ensuring employee are knowledgeable of the direction the company is going.

Why did you leave your job at Shaw Communications?

Got tired of the rotating shifts and I didnt fit in with competitive sales pushing. Shaw changed its motives from actually helping customers get the right products and service and instead wanted everyone to upsell. Even asked us to withhold resolving a customers issue to sell something first. Left to work Monday to Friday 9-5.

They cheat with event team specially after hire they change our salary and commission structure. Before start with this company think 10 times because after you in you will see actual things. Management is very childish and lots of favoritism. Just example: they said they will give us car expense but reality after start with the company they are saying they will give us T20 Form where we can show for TAX file.

It's definitely a family environment. They have supervisors who take care of small teams and they're always there to help you with whatever you need.
