Census Enumerator | Calgary, AB | 19 mars 2020
Census 2016
It was a very interesting position. Worked on Aboriginal reserves collecting data for census 2016.
Worked with local guides from the reserves learnt a lot from them.

Interviewer | Victoria, BC | 30 janv. 2020
Isolated and poor direction given to interviewers
Good for flexibility of schedule and federal benifits. Motivation and direction are lacking, but management will find scapegoats if something goes wrong. Numerous attempts to harass interviewers into resigning, including threats about the jail time involved in confidentiality issues.
Remote work and little training ongoing.

Great workplace
Great work environment. I learned to work on my own and manage a service request system on my own. The environment/staff was definitely the most enjoyable.

2016 Statistic Canada Census Job
Did a three month term with Statistic Canada in 2016 for the 2016 census. The pay was pretty good at $16 per hour, but the hours weren’t that great. I always thought working at a government job would be Monday to Friday from start times 7-9am to end times 3-5pm, this job was a morning shift, even shifts and weekend shifts. We took phone calls, and then when that job was done we had to visit peoples houses in the area we were working at for that day and knock on peoples doors rain or shine. They, however, did compensate you for kilometres driven (if you had a car), other means of transportation, and parking fees.
Points positifs$16/hr pay
Points négatifsSitting in an office all day, working weekends and nights and working outside rain or shine

Dont think that you'll be getting full-time hours.
Hours of operations are from 9am-11pm. Usually 5.5hr shifts, but never full-time hours in a week. Yearly wage increases and $0.20 premium if you're bilingual. Surveys range from calling businesses to calling the general public. Cubicals, but you won't ever get the same one.

Assistant Director | Ottawa, ON | 4 sept. 2012
fulfilling and rewarding
-Usually busy with a variety of duties; not uncommon to be told to drop one job to take on a more pressing one;
-Learned to have more self esteem; to take initiative; to have satisfaction and pride in work
-Management and coworkers are fair; assisted me with home/work duties due to husband's health issues; great team players
-Hardest part of job--paying full attention to details; travelling was another issue....travelled back and forth from Lombardy (outside Smiths Falls) to Ottawa and return....usually a 75 minute drive one way
-Enjoyable part--looking forward to getting up and coming to work; dealing with the public
Points positifsgood rapport with director, assistant directors, chiefs and fellow workers
