Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks over long distances, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of freight across various routes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, vehicle maintenance, and freight handling. Responsibilities
- Safely operate long-haul trucks across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport freight efficiently from origin to destination, ensuring timely deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance or safety issues
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record
- legally able to enter USA for for work purposes
- clean Criminal Record Check
- Pass a DOT Drug/Alcohol Test
- Acceptable Driving Abstract
- 2 years of verifiable experience
- Experience in commercial driving, preferably with long-haul routes through Canada & the USA
- Knowledge of freight handling and securement techniques
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and transportation regulations
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently over extended periods on the road
- Physical capability to handle freight, operate heavy equipment, and perform vehicle inspections as needed
- Reefer experience an asset
Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
