The YMCA of Central East Ontario operates out of three major Health, Fitness and Recreation facilities as well as approximately 20 community locations. POSITION SUMMARY:
As a vital first point of contact the Full-time, Membership Sales & Service staff member creates a welcoming and positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors or reaches out by phone. You will bring a passion for helping others and provide a high level of customer service to our members/program participants and incoming callers/visitors. The role also provides administrative support to the Membership Supervisor.

SALARY RANGE: $39,460 - $41,730 annually
VACANY: Vacant Role (1)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet each member, participant, potential member, volunteer and staff with a welcoming attitude and smile, using their name when possible
- Provide friendly service, assistance and information to each member, participant, potential member, volunteer and staff when they are attending the YMCA in person or when they call
- Promote membership sales and service in a positive and professional manner
- Manage and support group accounts, group memberships, processing changes, and assisting our group account contacts
- Provide sales, tours and invite prospective members to join
- Provide program and membership information
- Strive to stay informed and up to date on all YMCA programs and services being offered
- Develop positive relationships with participants, peers, volunteers and parents
- Solve member concerns in a customer-oriented manner
- Be responsible for the security of cash and to balance receipts and floats
- Assist with training of new and existing staff
- Assist with staff scheduling
- Provide leadership and assist with supervision of the part-time staff team
- Manage financial assistance program in coordination with the Supervisor
- Coordinate member retention initiatives
- Create a memorable, positive experience for everyone visiting our facility
EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS:
- OSSD preferred
- Excellent telephone skills and computer skills
- Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills with an outgoing personality
EXPERIENCE:
- Preference to those with experience working in a customer service atmosphere and those that thrive on change and diversity
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Some weekend and evening shifts required
