Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated HSE Junior Field Technician to join our Health, Safety & Environment team. This position is primarily field-based and supports multiple commercial, and industrial projects throughout Edmonton, Sturgeon County, Strathacona County, Alberta. The successful candidate will work closely with the HSE Regional Manager, site supervision and project management to promote a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with legislative and company requirements, and provide hands-on support to field
This role requires a highly motivated individual who is comfortable working independently, communicating with all levels of the organization, and traveling between project sites as operational needs require.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and field observations.
- Complete and review Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs), Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and other safety documentation.
- Support incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up.
- Assist with orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
- Verify compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation, client requirements, and company policies.
- Monitor work activities to ensure safe work practices are being followed.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and safety statistics.
- Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, workers, subcontractors, and clients to continuously improve safety performance.
- Travel regularly between project sites throughout Edmonton, Strathacona County, and Sturgeon County Alberta.

Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years of industrial field experience in construction, maintenance, scaffolding, mechanical, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
- A&D Compliant
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Alberta.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Comfortable working at heights.
Qualifications
The following certifications or experience would be considered assets:
- Standard First Aid & CPR
- Fall Protection
- CSTS 2020
- WHMIS 2015
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- COR auditing experience or COR knowledge
- Experience working with unionized workforces

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
