Vancouver Bitcoin is a Canadian money services business operating physical cryptocurrency exchange locations in Canada. We help clients buy and sell cryptocurrency in person through a secure, non-custodial exchange model.
We are hiring a full-time Branch Operator for our Calgary location. This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, comfortable handling cash, and motivated to take ownership of a local branch.
This is not a traditional bank teller role. You will be responsible for daily branch operations, customer service, transaction processing, cash handling, compliance procedures, and helping us improve the Calgary branch over time.
About the Role
You will be the primary on-site representative for our Calgary location. Your work will include assisting customers, processing cryptocurrency buy and sell transactions, completing required identity verification steps, handling cash accurately, and following daily opening and closing procedures.
This role is more than a standard teller position. Calgary is an important branch for us, and we believe it has significant room to grow with the right person operating it. We are looking for someone who can manage the branch professionally day to day while also helping improve customer experience, repeat business, local awareness, and overall branch performance.
For the right candidate, this role includes the opportunity to participate in Calgary branch growth through a structured performance bonus. The bonus is tied to branch performance and is subject to strong compliance, cash accuracy, customer service, documentation, and security standards.
Prior cryptocurrency experience is not required. Strong judgment, reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail are more important.
Responsibilities
- Open and close the Calgary branch according to company procedures
- Assist customers with in-person cryptocurrency buy and sell transactions
- Handle cash accurately and complete daily reconciliation
- Verify customer identity and complete required KYC/AML steps
- Follow internal compliance, fraud-prevention, and security procedures
- Maintain a clean, professional, and secure branch environment
- Explain transaction steps clearly and professionally to customers
- Communicate with management regarding unusual transactions, customer concerns, or operational issues
- Help identify practical ways to improve Calgary branch performance, customer experience, and local growth
What We Are Looking For
We are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds. You may be an experienced teller, currency exchange employee, retail supervisor, assistant manager, customer service professional, or someone with strong cash-handling experience and the right attitude.

Requirements
- Prior cash-handling experience in banking, currency exchange, retail, hospitality, or another high-trust environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfort working independently as the primary on-site employee
- Ability to follow compliance, security, and operational procedures carefully
- High attention to detail
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to pass background, reference, and other pre-employment checks
Nice to Have
- Experience in banking, currency exchange, financial services, retail management, or branch operations
- Prior experience opening or closing a store or branch
- Experience with cash reconciliation, transaction records, or compliance procedures
- Interest in Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, or financial technology
- Sales, local business development, or customer retention experience
