Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Temporary Hotel General Maintenance Worker to join our team for the summer season. This temporary position will support the overall maintenance and appearance of the hotel property by performing a variety of general maintenance, repair, and seasonal handyman projects. The successful candidate will help ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the hotel property.
- Complete seasonal maintenance projects, including painting, staining, pressure washing, and minor carpentry repairs.
- Carry out handyman duties such as repairing fixtures, replacing hardware, patching drywall, and assembling or installing equipment.
- Assist with landscaping and outdoor property maintenance, including grounds cleanup and seasonal upkeep.
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs within skill level.
- Respond to maintenance requests from hotel departments in a timely manner.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and hotel policies.
- Assist with additional maintenance and property improvement projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in general maintenance, building maintenance, or handyman work is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general repair techniques.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, bending, and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours if required.
Working Conditions
- Temporary seasonal position from July through August 2026.
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors.
- Physical labour is required, including lifting, carrying, climbing, and prolonged standing or walking.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be used when required.
