Job Summary
We are seeking a highly technical Refrigeration Technician to lead the startup and support of our R744 (CO2) refrigeration racks. This role is designed for a subject matter expert who thrives in the field but also enjoys technical problem-solving and system design. You will spend the majority of your time commissioning advanced trans critical systems, while providing critical remote support to our customers and assisting our factory team with new rack builds.
Role Breakdown

70% Commissioning & Field Startup: Lead the onsite programming, tuning, and optimization of R744 racks. Includes configuring high-pressure valves and bypass logic.

20% Admin & Remote Customer Support: Act as a technical anchor for clients. Troubleshoot system alarms remotely via controller interfaces and manage commissioning documentation and startup checklists.

10% New System Builds (Factory Floor): Work with the production team to assist with assembly and quality control of new CO2 rack builds, providing technical oversight on piping and electrical layouts.
Key Responsibilities:

Test, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, with a focus on CO₂ (R744)

Support installation and commissioning of new systems in both primary and secondary capacities

Perform field service work (up to 75% travel, including international)

Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues both onsite and remotely

Collaborate with engineering and service teams to resolve technical challenges

Participate in the development, review, and improvement of product documentation

Complete work orders, service reports, and commissioning documentation accurately and efficiently

Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety and quality culture

Receive and apply ongoing training related to R744 refrigeration systems and product lines

Work with precision-engineered, high-quality builds with the latest technology in R744 transcritical systems
Technical Requirements

Strong expertise in R744 (CO₂) refrigeration systems, including transcritical and subcritical cycles

Hands-on experience with refrigeration controllers such as Micro Thermal Systems, Copeland E3, and Danfoss

Proven ability to perform remote diagnostics using controller interfaces and graphical system data

Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in commercial/industrial environments
Qualifications and Skills:

Red Seal Certificate of Qualification (Refrigeration Mechanic) – required

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Valid passport (required for international travel)

Gas Fitter 2 License – considered an asset

Experience with commercial/industrial refrigeration

Strong communication and customer service skills
