Academy Petroleum Industries is looking for experienced CNC Lathe Machinists who take pride in their craft and want to work on complex, high-value components.
This role is ideal for machinists with strong experience in API threading, large part setups, and tight-tolerance work who are confident taking ownership of their machines and setups.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Independently set up and run CNC lathes on complex, large-scale components
- Execute and verify API threading (internal & external) with full understanding of standards and tolerances
- Read and interpret detailed drawings to deliver tight-tolerance, high-precision work
- Take ownership of difficult setups, including tooling selection and process planning
- Optimize speeds, feeds, and tooling strategies to maximize tool life, efficiency, and quality
- Perform accurate inspections using precision instruments
- Troubleshoot and correct machining issues proactively to maintain production flow
- Contribute to continuous improvement through process refinement and problem-solving

Work Environment
This is a production environment where priorities shift and deadlines matter. Overtime (evenings/weekends) may be required. Reliable transportation is necessary.
