Caregiver / Companion for an Elderly Woman
Location: Carling Avenue, Ottawa
Position: Part-Time / Casual Caregiver–Companion
Pay: $18 per hour
Schedule: Approximately 2 hours per visit, 3 visits per week; mostly on call
Key Responsibilities:
- Companionship: Provide friendly conversation, reassurance, and appropriate activities.
- Light Assistance: Prepare simple meals, make the bed, and help keep the home tidy and comfortable.
- Outings and Transportation: Accompany the client on short walks, appointments, errands, or local outings.
- Client Support: Promote the client’s comfort, independence, and general well-being during each visit.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle, and appropriate automobile insurance — required.
- CPR/First Aid certification — required.
- Caring, patient, dependable, and respectful.
- Comfortable with dogs.
- English communication skills — required.
- Previous caregiving or senior-companionship experience is an asset.
- Successful background and vulnerable sector check.
