Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Welder Contractor to join our team for various manufacturing, construction, and fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in welding techniques, blueprint reading, and mechanical assembly, with the ability to operate a variety of tools and equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring precision welding and fabrication skills in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on structural components, ductwork, and other metal assemblies according to detailed schematics and blueprints
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication
- Utilize plasma cutting, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment to prepare materials for welding
- Conduct rigging operations using cranes or forklifts to position heavy materials safely for welding or assembly
- Perform mechanical tasks such as measuring with calipers, basic math calculations, and assembly of components based on schematics
- Operate forklifts or other lifting equipment as needed for material handling and project setup
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and quality specifications while maintaining a clean work environment
- Assist in troubleshooting fabrication issues and recommend improvements for efficiency or safety
Requirements
- Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding within manufacturing or construction environments
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings
- Familiarity with rigging, crane operation, plasma cutting, press brake machines, machining tools, calipers, hand tools, power tools, and assembly processes
- Mechanical knowledge related to ductwork, structural steel, or similar fabrication projects
- Construction experience is highly desirable
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding and heavy equipment operation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to project deadlines
