Merchandising Lead / Sales Associate — Full-Time
Madhatters (Central City, Surrey, BC) is looking for a Merchandising Lead / Sales Associate to join our team full-time.
What you'll do:
- Work as a sales associate under the Store Manager: greet customers, answer questions, and handle cash transactions
- Operate the POS register accurately and reliably
- Collaborate with management on store layout, merchandising, and display placement
- Maintain strong visual presentation across the store — displays, restocking, and organization
- Help identify slow-moving or clearance stock and support markdown/display changes
- Support daily opening/closing routines, including morning shift coverage
- Hold store keys and be trusted to work reliably with minimal supervision

This role has a path toward a corporate-level position for the right person — we're looking for someone who wants to grow with the company, not just fill a shift.
Physical requirements:
- Able to lift boxes up to 45 lbs
- Able to stand for shifts of up to 4 hours at a time
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of retail experience
- High school diploma
- Comfortable operating a POS register and handling cash
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills when helping customers
- An eye for merchandising and store layout
- Early riser — must be available and reliable for morning shifts
- Full-time availability, including weekends
- Team player who works well with others
- Trustworthy and reliable enough to hold store keys and work independently
- Able to lift up to 45 lbs and stand for up to 4 hours
- Strong English speaking ability required; additional languages are an asset
- New to the area is fine — full training provided
