The Opportunity
The Director of Care (DOC) of the Long-Term Care Home is responsible to the Executive Director and the Regional Director, Care Services for management of the Resident Care Services within the site.
The Director of Care ensures the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the overall operation of the Nursing /Care Department in accordance with current applicable federal, provincial and regional standards, guidelines and regulations.
Works within their practice statement, competencies and conduct as defined by the Health Professions Act or other relevant legislation and governing professional organizations to ensure that the highest standard of resident care is delivered and maintained at all times.
What You Will Do
Providing leadership, coaching and support to the nursing staff.
Achieving Resident Satisfaction and Employee Engagement targets.
Meeting or surpassing all quality indicators for residents in accordance with company and Ministry guidelines.
Achieving regulatory compliance in relation to health care records and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics.
Meeting or exceeding department annual budget.
What You Will Need
Degree/Diploma in Nursing.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a health care setting.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as a Registered Nurse in the long-term care sector.
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the applicable Provincial licensing body is required as well as the successful completion of Nursing Unit Administrator Program.
Current C.P.R. designation is required.

Salary Range: $105,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
Salary placement based on qualifications and experience.
