Job Title: Mobile Mechanic
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and self-motivated Mobile Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for traveling to fleet customer locations to perform inspections and basic mechanical work, as well as assisting with in-shop repairs and service calls as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report to the shop each morning and operate a company service van
- Travel to fleet customer yards to perform routine inspections and basic mechanical tasks
- Diagnose and complete minor repairs on-site efficiently and safely
- Return to the shop after field work to assist with ongoing shop repairs or respond to additional service calls
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and service work completed
- Ensure service van is kept clean, organized, and properly stocked with tools and parts
- Communicate clearly with customers and team members regarding work performed and any issues identified
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a mechanic (automotive, diesel, or fleet experience preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work both in-shop and in the field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with fleet vehicles
- Relevant certifications (e.g., 310S is required, 310T will be seen as an asset)
- Basic knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
Working Conditions:
- Combination of shop-based and field work
- Travel to customer locations required
- Physical work including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
