We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Finance department as a Collection associate and back up to our Accounts Receivable clerk. Candidates with experience would be great!
The pay range for this position is: $18.50 to $20.00 depending on qualifications/experience. Hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30 pm. Hours are flexible once fully trained. Job Description
The Collection associate is responsible for the collection of outstanding customer account balances. They will also be the back up to our Accounts Receivable clerk.
Duties - Collections
· Manage collections, monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts
· Make collection calls on daily basis and email follow-ups
· Take actions to persuade customers for payments
· Monitor and report aging receivables
· Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues
Duties – Accounts Receivable
· Daily posting of all electronic fund transfers in Canadian & US currency including credit card payments and cheques
· Statement reconciliation and account maintenance including resolving discrepancies through direct communication with customers
· Processing approved debit and credit notes
· Assist with month-end closing and report preparation as required
General
· Organize filing of all appropriate documents in software
· Other duties as required
Technical Skills and Qualifications
· Must be comfortable contacting customers and making arrangements for payments
· Ability to apply general common sense & courtesy to situations involving orders, coworkers, & clients
· Proficient with computers, knowledge of Windows micro programs – Excel, Word
· Organizing / Prioritizing
· Team Player (offer assistance, actively listen, respect others, be a problem solver, celebrate team successes)
· Positive attitude, motivated, compassionate
· Strong time management skills: Must work well under pressure & be able to meet deadlines
