Kozak Ukrainian Restaurant is hiring Bakery Counter Associates / Hosts for our North Vancouver location.
This front-of-house position combines bakery counter service with host and dining-room support duties. You will help guests select baked goods and beverages, operate the POS system, welcome and seat restaurant guests, and help prepare tables.
Previous bakery, restaurant, retail or customer service experience is an asset but is not required. Training will be provided on our products, POS system and service procedures.
Schedule and Availability
Shifts may include:
- Morning, afternoon and evening shifts
- Weekdays and weekends
- Statutory holidays
Weekend availability is required.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and provide friendly counter service
- Explain and recommend baked goods, desserts and beverages
- Operate the POS system and process payments accurately
- Pack bakery, takeout and delivery orders
- Keep the bakery display stocked, clean and organized
- Monitor product presentation and report low-stock items
- Welcome and seat restaurant guests
- Help manage the flow of the dining room
- Set, clear and prepare tables for incoming guests
- Answer phone calls and assist with basic guest questions
- Keep the entrance, counter and front area clean and guest-ready
- Support servers and other front-of-house team members as needed
Requirements
- Friendly and professional communication with guests
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
- Ability to stay organized while handling several tasks
- Confidence using a POS system after training
- Willingness to learn the bakery menu and restaurant procedures
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to safely carry bakery trays, orders and table-setting items, with reasonable accommodation
