Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and dependable Maintenance Labourer to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the upkeep and smooth operation of our manufacturing and facilities environment. Your enthusiasm for hands-on work, combined with your mechanical and electrical knowledge, will help ensure our equipment and infrastructure remain in optimal condition. Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks across manufacturing and facility areas, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs
- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues using schematics and technical manuals
- Support larger maintenance projects by preparing work areas, handling tools, and following safety protocols
- Operate basic machinery and equipment such as welders, hand tools, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) under supervision
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Conduct inspections to identify potential hazards or equipment failures before they impact operations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance schedules and respond promptly to urgent repair needs
Qualifications
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or manufacturing environments is preferred
- Basic electrical experience and mechanical knowledge are essential for troubleshooting tasks
- Familiarity with schematics, technical diagrams, and PLCs is a plus
- Welding skills are desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided for the right candidate
- Strong communication skills in English to understand instructions and document work accurately
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience is advantageous for team coordination roles
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
