Join Our Manufacturing Team
Mid Island Cabinets has been building high‑quality custom European‑style cabinetry for over 30 years. We operate a modern 30,000 sq. ft. facility and are looking for a skilled, mechanically inclined Sawyer to join our production team.
This role focuses on Beam Saw and Edge bander operation, with cross‑training on additional automated equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
Beam Saw
- Schelling FH4 beam saw operation
- Follow cut lists and optimized patterns
- Maintain accuracy and material yield
Edge Banding
- Operate Holzher Sprint 1329 Power edge bander
- Read blueprints and plan ledger information
- Apply correct edge tapes and change glues
- Maintain machine cleanliness and performance
Cross‑Training Provided
CNC Operation
- Operate Komo VR510 Mach 1 and Onsrud S‑Series CNC routers
- Read and verify basic G‑code
- Calibrate tooling, fly‑cut decks, and run nests
- Label and track parts
- Perform routine maintenance
Panel Storage System
- Barbaric CSF automated panel storage & retrieval system
- Safe handling and staging of sheet goods
What You Bring
- Experience with CNCs, edge banders, or beam saws (preferred)
- Ability to read shop drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable and safety‑focused
