Who we’re looking for:
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Sanitation Member to join our team at our HACCP-regulated food production facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility and on all production equipment, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
Job Type:
- Part-time. Opportunity to go Full-Time based on performance
- Evening shifts.
- 20 - 25 hours/week.
- Weekly Monday – Friday schedule. Weekends, as needed
Salary: $20 - $24/hour, depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
Execute Cleaning and Sanitation Procedures:
- Perform comprehensive cleaning and sanitizing of all production equipment (e.g., cutters, grinders, kettles, tanks, and small wares) following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
- Dismantle and reassemble equipment as necessary for proper cleaning and sanitation.
- Use appropriate chemicals, tools, and techniques for effective cleaning and disinfecting, ensuring correct dilution ratios and contact times.
Facility Upkeep:
- Clean and sanitize all production and non-production areas, including floors, walls, drains, ceilings, processing rooms, storage areas, and employee welfare facilities (break rooms, restrooms).
- Perform necessary wash-downs and foaming procedures.
HACCP and Regulatory Compliance:
- Adhere strictly to all HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) principles, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and other food safety regulations.
- Complete and maintain accurate sanitation and cleaning verification logs and documentation.
- Monitor and inspect the facility and equipment to ensure they meet pre-operational inspection standards before production resumes.
Safety and Maintenance:
- Follow all company safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when cleaning equipment.
- Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals in designated areas.
- Report any structural or equipment deficiencies that could compromise food safety.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in sanitation, preferably in a food production, manufacturing, or industrial setting. Experience in a HACCP or GMP environment is a significant asset.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and their safe handling, and fundamental knowledge of food safety principles (HACCP/GMPs).
- Skills: Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions (SOPs), work independently, and manage time effectively to complete tasks on schedule.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb ladders/stairs for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in an environment that may be wet, cold, or humid, and involves exposure to cleaning chemicals.
Skills:
- Ability to take initiative with little to no instructions – be curious and eager to jump in and do what needs to be done.
- Be detail-oriented, paying close attention to our high production and cleaning standards.
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy items
- Ability to work honestly, independently, with little to no supervision
- Ability to multitask and stay organized, maintaining a clean workstation, including all equipment and utensils
- Standing for long hours is part of the job
- Must be respectful of the facility space and co-workers
