Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Retail Associate to join our team. This role involves engaging with customers, providing exceptional service, and assisting with sales of a variety of products. We are also seeking someone able to work all year long (non students preffered or students with flexible weekly schedules). The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be organized, and have a passion for retail and technology sales. Bilingual abilities and experience with product demos are highly valued to enhance customer interactions and drive sales. As a Retail Associate, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming shopping environment and ensuring customers have a positive experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products or services
- Conduct product demonstrations and explain features to customers, especially for technology-related items
- Handle cashiering duties including POS transactions, cash handling, and processing payments accurately
- Upsell products and accessories to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and restocking shelves as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Manage time effectively to serve multiple customers efficiently during busy periods
- Follow phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers over the phone
- Assist with inventory management and stock organization to ensure product availability
- Support store operations by maintaining cleanliness and organization of the sales floor
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred (Butcher Shop setting or meat in general)
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus (e.g., English, French)
- Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills, including phone etiquette and customer engagement techniques
- Demonstrated ability to upsell and promote products confidently
- Reliable with good time management skills to ensure efficient store operations
