Join Tanya-Ray Fishing booth as a Casual Sales Assistant at the Lac La Hache Garlic Festival! This lively event offers a fantastic opportunity to engage with visitors, showcase our delicious products. As a key team member, you’ll be the friendly face that helps shoppers discover our unique wild caught seafood products by offering samples and product knowledge and closing the sale. If you’re energetic, personable, and passionate about food and community events, this role is perfect for you! This temporary position is paid and will provide valuable experience in retail sales in a fast paced environment. Wage based on experience and Bonus available if target sales are met daily.
Duties
- Greet festival visitors warmly and assist them with product inquiries and purchases
- Demonstrate products and provide engaging product demos to enhance customer interest
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) systems for quick and accurate cash handling and transactions
- Upsell related products to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Maintain attractive merchandising displays to highlight featured varieties and festival specials
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions clearly and politely
- Assist with organizing stock, restocking shelves, and ensuring the sales area remains tidy and inviting
Skills
- Previous experience in retail sales is preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with customers and team members
- Technical sales experience or familiarity with product demos enhances your ability to educate customers
- Basic math skills for cash handling, POS transactions
- Excellent time management to balance multiple tasks during busy festival hours
- Customer service expertise to create positive interactions that encourage repeat visits
- Organizational skills for maintaining displays, stock levels, and cleanliness throughout the event
