We are looking for an experienced Sr. Financial Analyst Inventory and Costing to support manufacturing and distribution finance operations in Cambridge, Ontario. This 9-month Contract opportunity is ideal for someone with strong expertise in inventory accounting, standard costing, and analytical reporting within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will provide financial insight, help guide entry-level analysts through day-to-day work, and contribute to accurate reporting and operational decision-making.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial analysis related to manufacturing activities, with a strong focus on inventory valuation, cost accuracy, and plant performance.
- Prepare and review standard costing data to ensure product costs are maintained accurately and reflect operational realities.
- Analyze inventory movements, variances, and stock-related trends to support effective financial control and reporting.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and informal mentorship to two analysts, helping prioritize work and strengthen team output.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models, reports, and ad hoc analyses using advanced Excel tools and formulas.
- Support reporting across accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and product costing to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Work within business systems such as Microsoft Dynamics environments to extract data, validate results, and improve reporting processes.
- Contribute to budgeting, planning, and performance review activities by delivering clear financial insights to stakeholders.
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong background in inventory accounting and standard costing.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis capabilities; VBA is an asset.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics, Dynamics 365 ERP, or Microsoft AX is preferred.
- Solid understanding of A/R, A/P, inventory, and product costing workflows and reporting.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Exposure to project reporting or percentage of completion accounting would be considered an asset.
