Accounting Software Implementation Specialist

BAI is the only Canadian firm focused exclusively on software integration and implementation for public accounting firms. We are looking for someone to guide our member firms through the adoption, integration, and ongoing refinement of our policy-based platform.
This is a remote role suited to an experienced professional who thrives working independently, communicates with confidence, and enjoys helping others work smarter.

What You'll Do
Facilitator – Collaborate, problem-solve, and educate small groups within our member firms.
Coach – Mentor clients through the implementation, integration, and continued refinement of our well-documented policies, protocols, and guidance.
Technician – Follow well-documented procedures to manipulate data and run scripts to configure apps and servers.
Collaborator – Research and evaluate new features as accounting apps evolve, then document findings and best practices to keep our member firms ahead of the curve.

What We're Looking For
Communication
- Explain technical concepts using clear, common-sense language
- Guide clients through tasks and configurations by screen share
- Proactive with client outreach — check-ins, follow-ups, and timely responses
Work Style
- Works independently without close supervision
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Manages task lists and deadlines reliably
- Curious, teachable, and efficiency-minded
Technical Skills
- Run and modify existing Windows scripts (bat, vbs, ps, etc.)
- Set and modify Windows file security, folder permissions, and network shares
- Methodical and systematic in troubleshooting
Data Analysis & Automation
- Build, interpret, and modify complex Excel formulas
- Compare and reconcile data across multiple sources
- Run and modify existing VBA macros and automation tools
- Use BI tools such as Power BI to explore and visualize large datasets
Accounting Software
- Tax preparation or review (Taxprep, TaxCycle, ProFile, etc.)
- Audit & assurance file preparation (Caseware Working Papers, Caseware Cloud)
- Document management (Doc.It, iFirm, M-Files, etc.)
Documentation
- Write clear, accurate step-by-step instructions for non-technical audiences
- Review and QC technical documentation for accuracy, clarity, and consistency
- Work within established templates and style guides

Nice to Have
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
- Experience at a public accounting firm
- Experience at a software vendor or MSP
- Familiarity with Power Automate or similar automation tools
- Experience using AI assistants as a work tool

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Experience:
