POSITION: Virtual Bookkeeper (yes, this means you get to work from home!)

PLEASE NOTE BEFORE YOU READ ANY FURTHER: We are seeking career bookkeepers based in Canada with a minimum of seven (7) years of experience providing full-cycle bookkeeping services to Canadian and/or U.S. corporations.

HOURS: This is a permanent position. Entails a minimum of 5-10 hours per month to start and may grow closer to full-time over the next year. We do require someone who is available at some points during regular business hours Monday to Friday. If you are only available evenings and weekends, please do not apply.

LOCATION: Your home office in Canada.

NOTE: We are looking for someone who is overqualified for this opening. If you want your cover letter to stand out, say something about your vast experience as a qualified full-cycle Bookkeeper.

EDUCATION: You have completed certified training in full-cycle bookkeeping (not just selected aspects of the bookkeeping process) and/or have equivalent hands-on experience performing full-cycle bookkeeping responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS: You have experience supporting a leader in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You're self-motivated, highly organized, and quick to learn. You take initiative, thrive on solving problems, and consistently accomplish more than those around you while maintaining a high standard of quality.

You have experience with all or many of the following programs:

QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Sage, and/or other cloud-based app-software
Dext/Hubdoc
Microsoft Excel
Outsourced Payroll Providers: Dayforce (Ceridian), Payworks, ADP, Wagepoint, etc.
POS Retail Systems (i.e. ACE, Shopify, Moneris etc.)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Accounts Payable (A/P)
Accounts Receivable (A/R)
Payroll processing and statutory remittances
Tax collection and remittance (GST, PST, HST, etc.)
Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) reporting and remittances
Bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
Receipt and expense entry (data entry)
Maintaining accurate and organized financial records
Communicating professionally with clients, vendors, government agencies, and team members
