Description complète du poste

The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within the manufacturing environment.

This position is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products, supporting production schedules and customer orders.

The Material Handler will operate various material handling equipment to move goods safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse and production areas.

Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to maintain inventory accuracy and workplace safety.

Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall productivity and operational success of the manufacturing facility by ensuring materials are available when and where they are needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Proven experience in material handling within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Familiarity with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
Basic computer skills and experience using warehouse management systems.
Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely and follow safety guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in forklift operation or other material handling equipment.
Experience in non-durable goods manufacturing industry.
Knowledge of bar code scanning technology and inventory control processes.
Ability to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
Use material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts to move materials within the warehouse and production areas.
Pick and prepare orders accurately for shipping, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory levels, locations, and movements.
Assist with assembly line support by delivering materials and components as needed to maintain continuous production flow.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
Work overtime as required to meet production deadlines and shipping schedules.

Skills:

The required skills such as operating material handling equipment and using warehouse management systems are essential for daily tasks like moving, storing, and tracking inventory efficiently. Proficiency in order picking and shipping/receiving ensures that materials are accurately processed and prepared for production or delivery. Familiarity with bar code technology enhances inventory accuracy and speeds up data entry processes. The ability to work overtime and adapt to changing production demands supports operational continuity and meeting tight deadlines. Additionally, skills in using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and supporting assembly lines contribute to maintaining a smooth workflow and a safe working environment.

General Physical and other Requirements:

Must be able to walk, bend at the knees and waist repetitively
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Must be able to lift 10-40 pounds multiple times daily
Must be able to read English efficiently

Other Items to Know

4 day work week-Monday through Thursday! Training on days for up to 2 months
Regular shift will be 4:15 PM - 3:15 AM Monday through Thursday
