Job description:

Staff Plus is recruiting a Purchasing Manager for an established Canadian manufacturer located in Georgetown, Ontario. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced manufacturing procurement professional who understands the broader operational impact of purchasing decisions. The successful candidate will lead purchasing activities, support and guide a junior team member, strengthen supplier relationships, and work closely with multiple departments to ensure materials are available to meet production requirements.

Location: Georgetown, ON

Pay Rate: $80,000 - 90,000/year

Key Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical design and development of complex automation systems and custom machinery.
Lead purchasing and procurement activities within a manufacturing environment.
Provide day-to-day guidance and support to a purchasing team member.
Review material requirements and ensure timely availability of components and supplies.
Work with bills of materials, MRP, inventory levels, production schedules and purchasing data.
Manage purchase orders and monitor supplier delivery performance.
Identify, evaluate and develop alternate suppliers.
Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times and service expectations.
Identify cost-saving, inventory-optimization and process-improvement opportunities.
Address shortages, delivery delays, discrepancies and supplier-performance concerns.
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Receiving, Sales, Marketing and Accounting.
Support specialized and made-to-order component requirements.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and ERP data.

This is a fully on-site position based in Georgetown, Ontario. Occasional GTA supplier visits may be required, with the possibility of limited additional travel as the organization grows.

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
