Summary
THIS OPPORTUNITY IS LOCATED IN KELOWNA, B.C.
The Finance Manager is a hands-on leader within our Finance department, responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations that keep our business running. You bring strong relationship and communication skills, can pivot quickly, and offer exceptional management accounting, job costing, and process-improvement abilities. You are equally comfortable closing the month, following up on a receivable, negotiating with a supplier, and partnering with IT to automate the work that should not be done by hand.
Position Description
Reporting to the Vice-President, the Finance Manager leads the company’s routine accounting functions, oversees the Accounts Payable/Receivable clerk, and presents meaningful financial and KPI insights to the Management team. The Finance Manager is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the company’s financial records, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The successful applicant will be an experienced, detail-oriented finance professional with a proven track record in a management accounting setting, who is comfortable wearing many hats in a hands-on, family-owned business and thrives on both the numbers and the relationships behind them.
A successful Finance Manager will bring:
- Collaboration: Work with the Vice-President and Management team to meet company objectives.
- Relationship: Strong interpersonal skills to support internal clients (Project Managers and Operations) and external partners (Clients, Vendors, and Suppliers).
- Communication: Speak to department finances and project costing data, supporting the Project Management and Operations teams by making finances tangible.
- Leadership: Achieve financial results while being hands-on to drive and support the finance department.
- Dynamic: Thrive in a fast-paced environment where quick solutions are needed to keep pace with a rapid industry.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience
- Proficient in Sage 300
- Demonstrated proficiency with full-cycle accounting, month end close, inventory, government remittances, management reporting and cash flow forecasting
- Demonstrated proficiency in budgets, analysis, and financial controls
- Financial analysis and KPI reporting
- Experience managing credit, collections, legal channels, and customer account resolutions
- Experience in payroll and related processes
- Experience in procurement and vendor management
- Experience in supporting processes of HR, Operations, and Project Management
- Comfortable partnering with IT for automation and process improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent accounting experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders.

Working Conditions
- Office based role with occasional trip to branch locations.
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 CAD per year, commensurate with experience and demonstrated accounting expertise, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
