Job description:

TYCROP Trailers is looking for a Group 1 Welder/Fitter/Fabricator to join our growing team in Chilliwack.

The Group 1 Welder/Fitter/Fabricator is responsible for performing complex fabrication, fitting, welding, layout, assembly, and repair work on trailer components, sub-assemblies, and complete units. The position requires advanced proficiency in blueprint interpretation, fitting, welding, and fabrication techniques and the ability to work independently while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

Fabrication & Fitting

Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and production schedules.
Lay out, measure, mark, cut, fit, and assemble structural steel, aluminum, and fabricated components.
Perform complex fitting and fabrication tasks requiring minimal supervision.
Verify dimensions, tolerances, and fit-up requirements prior to welding.
Conduct modifications and rework as directed by engineering or supervision.
Ensure components are fabricated to established quality standards.

Welding

Perform welding in accordance with approved welding procedures and company standards.
Complete production and repair welding using approved welding processes and equipment.
Weld in various positions and on a variety of materials and thicknesses.
Inspect welds for quality, appearance, and compliance with specifications.
Complete repairs to welded assemblies as required.

Qualifications:

Welder Trade Certification/CWB certification / C-ticket or higher an asset
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
Strong understanding of dimensional measurement and layout techniques.
Working knowledge of overhead crane and rigging practices.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work well in both independent and team environments
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
