Position Scope:
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. This position is subject to call in coverage with required overtime hours on an as needed basis.
The ideal candidate will foster an environment where safety comes first in all aspects of maintenance and repair. Working closely with a variety of personnel across all departments, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning and scheduling industrial maintenance tasks while directing employees and contractors. Promoting open communication and a collaborative work environment is key.
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of, but not limited to;

Fleet maintenance equipment: consisting of forklifts, shunt trucks, trailers, tractors.

Warehouse storage systems: industrial storage racking, automated shuttles.

Building maintenance: including interior floors, building structure, roofs, etc.

Factory equipment: completing and assisting with the maintenance and repair of food processing equipment.

Team Leadership: Identifying opportunities to enhance team members’ technical expertise, providing ongoing coaching, and guiding overall performance.
The Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance team members’ technical expertise and overall performance while providing ongoing coaching and guidance.
Work Environment & Physical:

Manufacturing environment – Food Processing.

Standing and walking for extended periods and including climbing and descending multiple flights of stairs repeatedly throughout the day.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Occasional lifting may be required.
Qualification & Experience:
-
Industry Experience: Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred; a background in food manufacturing is a strong asset.

Leadership: Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role is highly desirable.

Education & Certification: Post-secondary education preferred (Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering) or an accredited trade certification like a Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright).

Regulations: Comprehensive, working knowledge of WHMIS, HACCP, and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) regulations.

Data & Literacy: Solid computer literacy and working knowledge of CMMS. Ability to track and act on key metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and OEE.

Predictive Maintenance: Experience with PdM tools, including the ability to analyze/interpret data outputs, spot early signs of equipment wear, and trend data to forecast failures.

Technical Knowledge: Hands-on understanding of mechanical systems (pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, valves, pneumatics, hydraulics) and experience with RCM and TPM frameworks.
