Duties
This position involves the planning, implementation and evaluation of training programs, and conducting educational research within National Defence (DND). It possesses and applies knowledge of teaching methodologies, pedagogical concepts and practices.
The position participates in the following activities:
- The development and implementation of standards, testing procedures and best practices for training programs.
- The establishment and approval of training products and services and performance evaluation programs.
- The advice and guidance on training validation, curriculum and program adjustments and teaching practices.
Typically, the position reports to the Training Evaluation and Standards Manager or higher EDS position/military position.

- 1 Bilingual imperative (CBC/CBC) position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Quebec City, Quebec.

In line with Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) direction, the Department of National Defence has adopted a common hybrid work model where employees work at their designated worksite at least 4 days each week, or 80% of their regular schedule. Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to fill one (1) English essential position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Esquimalt, British Columbia and one (1) Bilingual imperative (CBC/CBC) position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Quebec City, Quebec.
A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and used to staff identical or similar positions with various employment tenures (temporary and permanent), language profiles, operational requirements, and conditions of employment at the Department of National Defence.

EDUCATION
ED1 – Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in education, linguistics, sociology, psychology, mathematics, physics, home economics or some other specialty relevant to the positions in the classification.

The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. EXPERIENCE
EX1 – Experience in program design and development within an adult learning environment using educational technologies and methods.
EX2 – Significant* experience evaluating learning needs and providing advice to the selection, planning, design or development of learning solutions.
EX3 – Significant* experience developing training content utilizing a learning management system (LMS). (LMS system includes Defence Learning Network (DLN), Moodle, and other training platforms).
- Significant experience will be assessed in terms of the depth and breadth of activities, the complexity and diversity of work handled, as well as the level of autonomy demonstrated. While such an experience would normally be acquired over a period of approximately two (2) years, a shorter duration may be considered based on the demonstrated complexity and diversity of work handled, scope of work, or level of direct responsibility.
