Description complète du poste

The Position:

Deliver quality and meaningful child development, youth, and caregiver capacity, as well as skill-building programs that respond to the needs of the community. Provide education options to support child development, youth, and caregiver resiliency, foster positive mental health and social-emotional well-being, while providing opportunities for participants to make meaningful social connections and access other supports and resources.

What you will do:

Offer a variety of programming designed to focus on participant strengths, increasing resilience, and family wellness.

Programs to be targeted for 3 distinct groups of participants: Building Resilient Caregivers (BRC), Infant Child Development 0-12 years (ICD), and Youth Development Resilience 13-24 years (YDR)

Use a variety of techniques to promote positive parent/child interaction and engagement, as well as positive child, youth, and adult interactions throughout the community.

Provide a fun, welcoming, and inclusive environment where participants can network and learn from each other

Organize Coffee and Learn/Drop-in sessions or watch parties for programs that increase participant knowledge, resilience, skill building, coping, and understanding of how participants’ own experiences shape their interactions and growth.

Pre-plan creative weekly/monthly programs/activities in an organized manner with the ability to modify the original plan if needed, while keeping accurate records of programs and attendance

Attend FRN meetings and participate actively

Share programming with the FRN Hub to ensure the dissemination of information

Attend training as required

Complete required reporting accurately and in a timely manner

Pursue and obtain funds from foundations, corporations, individuals, and government sources through activities such as grant-writing and fundraising activities

Assist in brainstorming and creating new methods to raise funds for programming

Build long-term relationships with potential donors or volunteers

Collaborate with other organizations and groups within the community to build partnerships and enhance fundraising activities

Support and actively engage in the writing, submission, and management of grant proposals

Necessities for Success:

Compassionate with a positive and empathetic approach to others

Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Social or Human Services appreciated, relevant experience, equivalencies, or life experience considered an asset

Experience working with individuals and families with complex needs

Respect for the diversity of cultural differences and beliefs

Knowledge of community resources

Understanding of how to set professional boundaries

Ability to maintain computerized files and documentation

Current Child Welfare Record Check and Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check

A valid driver’s license with a reliable car will be required
