Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chiropodist to join our healthcare team, providing expert foot and ankle care to diverse patient populations. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of foot and lower limb conditions, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through personalized treatment plans. Your expertise will contribute to improving mobility, alleviating pain, and enhancing overall quality of life for patients across various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and home care environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while working within a dynamic healthcare team committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ foot and ankle health, utilizing medical terminology accurately to document findings.
Develop and implement tailored treatment plans for conditions such as injuries, deformities, infections, and chronic pain management.
Administer appropriate medications and perform minor procedures in accordance with clinical protocols.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and physical therapists to coordinate patient care effectively.
Manage patient education on foot health, injury prevention, and post-treatment care, ensuring understanding across diverse populations including pediatrics.
Collect and analyze data related to patient progress and treatment outcomes to inform ongoing care strategies.
Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and data collection to maintain accurate medical records.
Assist in research initiatives aimed at advancing podiatric practices and improving patient outcomes in acute care or home care settings.

Qualifications

Proven experience working in hospital or clinical environments with a focus on podiatry or foot care.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to foot and ankle conditions.
Experience with research or data collection related to patient outcomes is preferred.
Hands-on experience with pain management techniques and medication administration.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Accuro is an asset
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations including pediatrics.
Prior experience in home care or acute care settings is advantageous.
Knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology necessary for accurate documentation.
