Your Opportunity at SECURE:
As Facility Operator you are responsible for the day-to-day safe and customer service-oriented operations of waste treatment, oil treatment and water injection. Operators actively assist with standard operating procedures, hazard assessments, safety programs and environment protection, while keeping in constant contact with customers and demonstrating excellent communications skills and a high level of customer service.
This position is located in Big Valley, AB.

The team at our Big Valley facility takes pride in operating safely and delivering operational excellence. Team members work collaboratively, support one another, and are committed to providing reliable service to customers while living SECURE's values each day.
Work Environment:
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract position. The role follows a 12-hour shift schedule on a 7-on, 7-off rotation, alternating between day and night shifts.
A Day in The Life:
- Responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operation of the facility

Responsible for truck unloading, oil emulsion and water & vac trucks
-
Responsible for oil treating with the treater, cooler or tank treating
-
Participating in waste processing, waste and mud tank operation, shaker & centrifuge operations and solids treating
-
Responsible and accountable for the receipt, terminal storage and transportation of crude oil while adhering to Measurement & Crude Oil Quality compliance

Managing ongoing water injection, filter changing and pump maintenance

Conducting treatment of solids on the waste pad

Conducting boiler operations, testing and steam system operations

Ensuring that all corporate compliance programs are adhered to

Submitting truck tickets summary, daily plant checklists, and balance and transfers to the office

Participates in the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS)

Waste plant operation (ensuring solids processing is meeting or exceeding landfill criteria and solids testing)

Following water injection SOP’s and best practices to protect the disposal well integrity

General maintenance, ensure that the plant is kept clean and safe
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma or equivalent
-
Operational experience in waste processing, oil treating or water injection is considered a strong asset
-
Waste management experience is considered a strong asset
-
Specialty training in boilers, treaters, pumps (all), repairs, shaker/centrifuge and loader is considered an asset

Current and valid safety tickets, including H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, Confined Space Entry, WHIMS and TDG

A strong attention to detail, communication skills with the ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding work environment

Ability to accurately document work activities and effectively communicate information during shift handovers with multiple stakeholders.

Strong multitasking, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to safe work practices while providing a high level of customer service.

Valid and acceptable driver's licence and successful completion of pre-employment testing.
