Overview

We are seeking an experience and detail-oriented Structural Steel Detailer to join our steel fabrication company. If you have a passion for 3D modeling and want to work on exciting, diverse structural projects, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Create highly accurate 3D models of structural steel and miscellaneous metals using Tekla Structures.
Generate detailed shop drawings, assembly drawings, erection plans, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
Identify and resolve design conflicts or interferences (clash detection) before fabrication begins.
Interpret structural drawings, architectural designs (IFC), and project specifications.
Write and track Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify missing or conflicting design data.
Produce CNC data (NC/DXF files) to support our automated fabrication equipment.
Ensure all models and drawings comply with AISC, NISD, and company standards.

Requirements

Minimum 3–5 years of Tekla Structures.
Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection practices.
Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
Knowledge of Canadian building practices and CISC standards.
Experience detailing structural steel, miscellaneous metals, stairs, railings, and embeds is considered an asset.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of CNC data generation and fabrication workflows.
Previous experience working for a structural steel fabricator.

Schedule

Monday-Friday
7am-5:30pm
Weekly pay
Overtime after 44 hours in a week

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
