We’re looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter / Lead Hand who can confidently run projects, mentor apprentices and labourers, and deliver exceptional craftsmanship. What You’ll Be Doing
● Lead residential renovation projects from start to finish.
● Coordinate and supervise small crews and subcontractors.
● Perform framing including structural aspects, finish carpentry, drywall, trim, paint, doors, windows, siding, decks, potentially some roofing and general renovations.
● Read and interpret drawings and project specifications.
● Plan daily work to keep projects on schedule.
● Maintain high standards of workmanship and job-site safety.
● Communicate professionally with homeowners and project management.
● Identify problems early and develop practical solutions.
Qualifications
Required
● Minimum 8–10 years of residential carpentry/renovation experience.
● Proven experience leading renovation projects.
● Strong framing and finish carpentry skills.
● Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
● Valid Ontario G driver’s licence.
● Reliable transportation.
● Own professional hand tools.
● Strong organizational and communication skills.
Assets
● Experience with kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and basement renovations.
● Experience with accessibility and aging-in-place renovations.
● Knowledge of Ontario Building Code.
● First Aid, Working at Heights, Arial platform WHMIS, or other construction certifications.
