You will gain invaluable, on how to commission, maintain and service electrical equipment, with hands-on experience the area of Power System and Electronic Monitoring and Control Equipment used in the Power Generation, Power Transmission, Power Distribution Systems, as well as in the Commercial and Industrial Industry.

We are seeking highly motivated individuals for this role of Jr. Substation Technician/Technologist to join our growing team.

We serve the Utility, Industrial, and Institutional sectors, where system stability, operational reliability, and safety are critical. We are currently seeking a motivated and driven Jr. Substation Technician / Technologist to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with high-voltage and power system maintenance, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
- Support information gathering, analysis, and documentation for Arc Flash and Coordination Studies.
- Perform a variety of engineering technology tasks using computer-assisted testing, analysis, and design software.
- Operate specialized testing and diagnostic equipment in the field and within substations.
- Prepare project reports by collecting, summarizing, analyzing, and interpreting technical information.
- Develop findings, draw conclusions, and provide appropriate recommendations based on collected data.
- Communicate effectively with customers, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders regarding project requirements, challenges, and solutions.
- Respond to technical inquiries and provide engineering-related information and support.
- Assist in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards and company procedures.
Experience & Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in an Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technician/Technology program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- OACETT certification is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Proven problem-solving skills with a hands-on, action-oriented approach.
- Proficiency with electrical engineering design and analysis software, as well as common enterprise software applications.
- Working knowledge of applicable IEEE and NETA standards.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and handling various types of testing and field equipment.
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites, including occasional extended stays.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and a willingness to learn and adapt to new industry technologies.
- Valid G Class driver's license with a clean driving record.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
