Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking General Labourers to join our construction team. Looking to hire 2 people with different specializations:
1) Asphalt Labourer - Raker/Spreader/Grades
Responsibilities:
- Rake and spread asphalt to proper depth, grade, and finish
- Set, check, and maintain grades using string lines, levels, and site benchmarks
- Work directly alongside paver and roller operators to ensure smooth, consistent mat
- Perform detailed hand work around catch basins, curbs, edges, and tie-ins
- Adjust and maintain proper slope for drainage
- Assist with fine grading and base prep prior to paving
- Shovel, lute, and clean up joints, edges, and transitions
- Monitor asphalt consistency and communicate with crew to maintain production
- Maintain tools and ensure a safe, clean work environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in asphalt paving (raking and spreading required) (Mandatory)
- Valid G Class Driver's license (Mandatory)
- Ability to read grades and understand elevations/slopes
- Strong understanding of asphalt placement and finishing techniques
- Physically capable of heavy labour (long hours, lifting, working in heat)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced paving crew
- Strong work ethic and reliability
2) Concrete& Asphalt Work
Responsibilities:
Assist with concrete work:
- Forming, pouring, leveling, and finishing support
- Mixing and handling concrete materials
Assist with asphalt work:
- Raking, shoveling, and spreading asphalt
- Assisting with compaction and base preparation
Site preparation:
Excavation, grading, and base installation (Granular A, uushed stone, etc.)
Operate equipment as required:
Skid steer (Bobcat)
Mini excavator/ excavator
Load/unload materials, tools, and equipment
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Follow all health and safety procedures
Support crew leads, operators and foremen as required
Requirements
- Valid G Class Driver's License (Mandatory)
- Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, bending, long hours)
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability (punctual, consistent attendance)
- Ability to work well in a team environment
