Summary
The Product & Application Engineering Specialist serves as a key technical interface between OES, its customers, and the global representative network.
This mid-career role combines application engineering, field technical support, product training, and structured feedback into Product Development. Through strong engineering-to-engineering relationships, the role ensures successful product integration, customer satisfaction, and early visibility into new projects and technical developments.
Major Accountabilities
Application Engineering & Customer Support
· Act as subject matter expert for OES Technologies product lines.
· Review customer machine specifications, drawings, and technical requirements.
· Define and validate appropriate product configurations and application solutions.
· Support feasibility studies, engineering trials, and new project launches.
· Conduct on-site and remote installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
· Serve as the primary technical liaison between customer engineering teams and OES internal departments.
· Identify technical risks and communicate mitigation strategies.
· Document field findings, technical issues, and lessons learned.
Product Development & Innovation
· Translate Voice of Customer (VoC) and field insights into actionable engineering feedback.
· Support new product development through field validation and application testing.
· Participate in design reviews and provide practical application input.
· Assist in developing/executing validation plans, functional testing, and field trials.
· Research competitive solutions and emerging technologies relevant to customer applications.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives based on root cause analysis and field performance data.
Global Representative Technical Support
· Provide technical support and guidance to OES global representatives.
· Assist with technical clarifications, solution validation, and application positioning.
· Support representatives in customer meetings when deeper technical expertise is required.
· Develop technical documentation, application notes, and training materials.
· Act as escalation point for complex technical inquiries.
Customer Relationship & Opportunity Awareness
· Build strong relationships with customer engineering and technical teams.
· Maintain awareness of upcoming projects, engineering changes, expansions, or cancellations.
· Communicate relevant account intelligence and project pipeline insights to Business Development.
· Support early-stage technical discussions for new opportunities.
Qualifications
Education: University Degree or College Diploma in Software, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline.
Experience: Mid-career level (5–10 years combined experience)
Experience in application engineering, field service engineering, technical support in industrial/manufacturing environments. Experience working directly with customer engineering teams is preferred.
Technical & Professional Skills
· Strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems
· Experience with industrial machine integration, product testing, validation, and field support
· Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
· Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills (technical and non-technical)
· Ability to manage multiple customer accounts
· Structured reporting and documentation capability
· Knowledge of CE, UL, CSA, and IEC standards
· Familiarity with ERP systems, documentation control, and project coordination
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
Language & Travel Requirements
· Fluent English (required)
· Mandarin Chinese (required) – professional working proficiency
· Willingness and ability to travel globally up to 75% of the time
Pay: $100,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
