We’re looking for an experienced and motivated mechanic/technician with a specialty in generator control systems to join our growing power generation team in Red Deer or Grande Prairie. You’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting diesel and natural gas generators, including control and paralleling systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair power generation systems up to 2MW
- Diagnose and troubleshoot engines, generators, and control systems (including paralleling setups)
- Program and configure generator controllers (e.g., Deep Sea, ComAp, Woodward)
- Work directly with customers and project teams to ensure system performance
- Complete accurate reports and service documentation
Qualifications
- Journeyman or equivalent certification in mechanical, electrical, or automation trades
- Experience with generator systems, engine controls, and automation
- Strong knowledge of diesel and natural gas engines
- Proficient in troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing engines and Tier emission regeneration systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- Valid driver’s license
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
- Familiar with CAT ET program and commissioning rental equipment onsite
