Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Painter/Labourer to join our construction and restoration team. This role involves performing residential, commercial, and industrial painting projects, utilizing various hand and power tools, and supporting carpentry and rigging tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to read schematics and blueprints. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in construction painting, restoration, and customer service within a dynamic work environment.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming as needed
- Apply paint, stain, or coatings to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate application of finishes
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to assist with carpentry, rigging, or other related tasks
- Support restoration projects by performing surface repairs and finishing work
- Assist with the setup and teardown of job sites, including scaffolding and ladders
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to meet project specifications and deadlines
- Support additional labour tasks as required for project completion
Requirements
- Previous experience in construction painting, restoration, or industrial/commercial painting preferred
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics is a plus
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to painting and carpentry
- Ability to perform rigging tasks safely when required
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Ability to work at heights using scaffolding or ladders safely
- Experience in residential or commercial painting is desirable
- Basic understanding of caulking techniques and surface preparation processes
- Construction experience including carpentry or industrial painting is advantageous
