Position Summary
Bluewater Environmental Solutions is seeking a motivated and dependable General Labourer to join our growing operations team. This hands-on position supports a variety of industrial cleaning, environmental, and emergency response projects in diverse industrial settings.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining our high standards of safety, productivity, and customer service. Due to the nature of our industry, work schedules may vary and can include evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency response call-outs.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform industrial cleaning activities involving both hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
· Participate in confined space entry operations when required.
· Assist with pressure washing, tank cleaning, waste handling, and environmental remediation projects.
· Operate hand and power tools, including shovels, jackhammers, squeegees, and scraping equipment.
· Perform physically demanding labour, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment.
· Follow all company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
· Maintain equipment and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
· Support emergency response and specialized field service projects as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Preferred Experience
· Previous experience in industrial cleaning, environmental services, vacuum truck operations, or the waste management industry.
· Experience with industrial pressure washing equipment.
· Experience working in confined spaces and/or at heights.
· Experience using respirators and supplied-air breathing systems.
Skills & Competencies
· Strong commitment to workplace safety.
· Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Reliable, dependable, and adaptable in changing work environments.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision when required.
· Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset.
Certifications Considered an Asset
· Forklift Operator Certification
· Scissor Lift Certification
· Zoom Boom (Telehandler) Certification
· Confined Space Entry Training
· Working at Heights Training
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift up to 50 kg (110 lbs).
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
· Ability to work in a variety of industrial environments, including hot, cold, noisy, dusty, and confined work areas.
· Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on short notice when required.
Compensation & Benefits
· Starting wage: $24.00 per hour
· Health Spending Account (HSA) eligibility following successful completion of the 90-day probationary period
