Part-time Prep Cook
We are seeking a motivated Part Time Prep Cook to join our catering team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation and eager to develop their skills in a fast food catering environment. The Prep Cook will support the kitchen by preparing ingredients, assisting with meal assembly, and ensuring food safety standards are maintained. This position offers flexible hours suitable for those looking to gain culinary experience or supplement their current schedule.
Responsibilities
● Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients according to recipes and standards
● Support cooking processes by preparing components of dishes under the supervision of head chefs or cooks
● Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils
● Follow food safety protocols to ensure hygiene and prevent cross-contamination
● Assist with food handling tasks, including portioning and plating as needed
● Support the team during busy service times by ensuring timely preparation of menu items
● Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment
● Light baking
● May be required to drive food van and deliver catering orders to other locations
Qualifications
● Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety standards
● Strong understanding of food handling procedures and sanitation practices
● Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
● Excellent serving skills and a positive attitude toward teamwork and customer service
● Basic culinary skills related to meal preparation and food industry standards
● Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions accurately
● Food handling certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is a plus
● Flexibility to work part-time hours, including evenings or weekends as needed
