In Canada, our Bridge department has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Québec City. AtkinsRéalis also has a large international presence with over 700 bridges professionals globally, and involvement in some of the most complex structures in the world. The Bridges Department – Western Region, is looking for a project engineer (Bridges) for our team in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate will act as Engineer of Record (EoR) on assigned projects, assuming professional responsibility for engineering deliverables and technical decisions.
Act as Engineer of Record (EoR) for assigned bridge projects, providing technical oversight and professional accountability for engineering deliverables.
Manage and coordinate engineering projects throughout all phases (design, procurement, construction, and commissioning)
Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, operations, and external stakeholders)
Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and mitigating risks
Be regularly present on construction sites to monitor progress, ensure compliance with safety standards, and coordinate on-site activities.
Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements
Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and technical specifications
Support problem-solving and technical decision-making during project execution
Communicate project updates to stakeholders and senior management
Degree in Civil Engineering (preferably with a Structural major). Registered as Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with APEGA.
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation with 5 years in project management.
8+ years of experience in engineering practice in analysis and design of various types of bridge and transportation structures; railway structures is an asset.
Demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects with variety of complexity, type of bridge, size and scope.
Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) Code.
Proficient in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS and Microsoft Office applications.
