About Us
Agile Maritime Cleaners is a locally owned post-construction and renovation cleaning company serving the Halifax Regional Municipality. We provide builder's cleans, renovation cleanups, and final handover cleans for contractors, property managers, and businesses. We're WHMIS certified, $5M insured, and growing — looking for a hands-on supervisor to help lead our crews on-site.
Job Summary
We're looking for an experienced Cleaning Supervisor to lead on-site teams for post-construction and renovation cleaning jobs across HRM. You'll oversee day-to-day job execution, ensure quality and safety standards are met, and act as the main point of contact with clients on-site.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate cleaning crews on post-construction, renovation, and final handover jobs
- Conduct site walkthroughs/inspections before and after jobs, including before/after photo documentation
- Assign tasks, manage timelines, and ensure jobs are completed on schedule and to quality standards
- Train new staff on proper techniques, equipment use, and safety procedures (WHMIS compliance)
- Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and property managers on-site
- Manage and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies; report shortages or issues
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed on job sites
- Provide feedback and basic performance oversight for crew members
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in commercial/industrial cleaning, with supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of post-construction cleaning processes (dust removal, floor care, window/glass cleaning, final detailing)
- WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain before start)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (travel between job sites in HRM required)
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Comfortable with physical work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Flexible availability, including occasional evenings/weekends for tight-deadline jobs
Nice to Have
- Experience in floor care (strip & wax, LVP/vinyl flooring)
- Previous experience working with general contractors or property managers
- Bilingual (English + other languages spoken in HRM communities) is an asset
