Overview
Desmarais, Keenan LLP, a well-established law firm, is seeking an experienced Office Manager to join our energetic and capable team. This is a key leadership role combining office administration, financial management, and human resources responsibilities.
Office & Financial Administration
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office to ensure a productive and efficient work environment
- Managing bookkeeping functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, posting journal entries, and maintaining general and trust ledger accounts
- Preparing weekly and monthly financial reports and account reconciliations
- Administering and maintaining Trust Accounts in accordance with Law Society requirements
Human Resources
- Managing, mentoring, and supervising office staff, including conducting performance reviews and addressing workplace concerns
- Leading recruitment efforts including posting positions, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new hires
- Managing employee departures, including conducting exit interviews and processing terminations when necessary
- Maintaining employee records, managing scheduling, and overseeing leave and attendance tracking
- Assisting in the development and enforcement of workplace policies and procedures
- Supporting staff development through training initiatives and professional growth opportunities
Qualifications
- Intermediate to senior-level experience in office management, preferably within a legal or professional services environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of trust accounting practices
- Proficiency with financial and accounting software, with comfort across a variety of data entry tasks
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage staff effectively
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and follow instructions with precision

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year

Experience:
