Heavy Duty Mechanic / Millwright – Aggregate Operations
We are looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic, Millwright, or Aggregate Equipment Mechanic to join our team at a gravel crushing operation in the Cochrane, Alberta area.
This position is best suited to someone with hands-on experience maintaining and repairing crushing plants and aggregate processing equipment. While Journeyman certification is considered an asset, it is not required. Proven experience working in aggregate, mining, or gravel operations will be given equal consideration.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical failures on aggregate processing equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
- Maintain and repair:
- Jaw, cone, and impact crushers
- Screening plants
- Conveyors and stackers
- Belts, rollers, bearings, pulleys, and associated components
- Service and repair heavy equipment, particularly John Deere loaders and excavators.
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs as required.
- Assist with plant setup, tear-down, and equipment upgrades.
- Work safely while minimizing downtime and maximizing plant productivity.
Qualifications
- Experience working in gravel pits, quarries, mining, or aggregate operations.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with crushers, conveyors, stackers, and material handling systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience servicing heavy equipment, especially John Deere loaders and excavators.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license.
Assets
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright certification.
- Experience operating loaders and excavators.
- Hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs.

Compensation will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications and will be competitive with current industry standards.
