Hotel Maintenance
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and perform preventive maintenance programs for hotel HVAC systems, including routine inspections, cleaning, servicing, and repairs.
- Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
- Perform regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, mechanical rooms, and hotel facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Maintain and service the hotel's indoor pool and spa systems, including monitoring water chemistry, equipment operation, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with health regulations.
- Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical, lighting, drywall, painting, carpentry, and other building systems as required.
- Coordinate the ordering, inventory, and proper storage of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Work closely with housekeeping, front office, and other hotel departments to ensure guest rooms and facilities remain in excellent condition.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when specialized repairs or inspections are required.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, equipment servicing, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely and in accordance with company policies, hotel standards, and applicable health and safety regulations.
- Participate in emergency response procedures and perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with HVAC systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
- Experience maintaining indoor pool and spa equipment, water chemistry, and related documentation. Pool certified or Willing to get pool certification in accordance with Health Unit regulations.
- General knowledge of building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and basic mechanical repairs.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate maintenance records.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, staff, contractors, and vendors.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency maintenance calls as required.
